Acquiring
Blandad prissättning
En enda fast avgift (t.ex. 2,9 % + 30¢) som tas ut på alla korttransaktioner oavsett underliggande interchange.
Blended pricing is a merchant services fee structure where the acquirer applies a single, fixed percentage and often a flat fee to every transaction processed. This model consolidates several distinct costs inclusive of the interchange fee paid to the issuer, the scheme fees paid to Visa or Mastercard, and the acquirer markup into one simplified rate. While this approach provides high levels of predictability for financial forecasting, it fails to account for the granular cost differences between transaction types, such as domestic debit cards versus international commercial credit cards. Consequently, an organisation may pay a significant premium on transactions that would otherwise attract lower regulated interchange rates set by the CMA or European Commission. Most payment aggregators utilise this model to simplify billing for small businesses, though larger enterprises typically find it less cost-effective than an unbundled pricing structure.

How does blended pricing differ from Interchange Plus?
Blended pricing masks the individual cost components of a transaction by charging a flat rate. In contrast, Interchange Plus (IC+) separates the card scheme's interchange and scheme fees from the acquirer's margin, providing transparency into the exact costs incurred for different card types and regions.
When should a merchant consider moving away from a blended rate?
A merchant should generally evaluate a transition to IC+ pricing once their monthly processing volume increases or if they process a high percentage of low-cost domestic debit cards. Since blended rates are priced to cover the cost of expensive premium or business cards, high-volume merchants often overpay significantly compared to the actual settlement costs.
